Overview

This is a class project. I conducted an accessibility test and task test on the Hours Page and Book Request Process on UW Library website to find issues and gave solutions.

Main Problems

01

Hours Page

02 Books request Page

  • The massive timetable overwhelms users and the existing calendar design is inconvenient for adjusting dates.

  • After submitting the application, users are unable to see information about the request and the progress of it.

Solutions

01

Hours Page

1. Add a calendar component and holiday options to assist users in quickly

    adjusting dates.
2. Classify information under library categories to organize data and show

detailed hours of each library, helping users locate information quickly.

02 Books request Page

1. Change the request page to make it possible for users to know the progress

of their request and have the ability to modify the pickup location.

I gave users a task

Participants need to complete the task I have selected. I will record their language, behavior, and inquire about their feelings throughout the process. This will help identify issues in the task journey.

# Painpoints

  • The existing calendar design is inconvenient for adjusting dates and finding holidays.

  • The massive timetable overwhelms users, not meeting their expectations.

  • Lack of detailed information about the specific day and how to make an appointment.

Who can help me solve these questions?

Based on those pain points, I conducted a competitive analysis of the library websites of three other schools.
